Diocletian Palace - The Fruite Square

The Fruit Square (Voćni trg)

Another square no one calls by its real name, the Square of Radić Brothers is called “The Fruit Square” because it was once home to the bustling and colorful market where women from the surrounding villages came to sell their fruit.

Nowadays, in the middle of the square, you can find the statue of Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature, sculpted by Ivan Meštrović, the most renowned Croatian artist.
